Myra Hindley and Ian Brady were known as the Moors' Murderers. Hindley, a female, would often lure unsuspecting children into the car with Brady often waiting nearby. A female seemed motherly - less threatening, so children often got in the car.
Brady's letter dates from 2017, while Myra's dates all the way back to 1999. Interestingly in the letter by Hindley, she talks of prison and with 100% certainty in seeing her other letters, this print and particularly the rare name and way she signed, are forensic matches to those in existence.
Once their victim was inside, Brady (sometimes on a motorbike) would get inside or follow for a little bit before joining. Their name came from where they disposed of at least 5 victims before a confession led them to the Moors. The real number of victims will never be known as both are deceased now.
Brady typically responded to those in the UK and sometimes people in the USA would write him - albeit he was not that well known to some. Hindley was largely reclusive and wrote to very few people.
These were purchased from a known UK collector who had dozens of Brady letters and only 2 from Hindley. Within the hobby, we have seen less than 10 Myra Hindley letters and even fewer with such legible print - signed "Myra."
